Apologies

Apologies to those who wanted to view this blog tonight. I was playing around with some settings and have accidentally made all my blogs 'private' - all back to normal now, including my waffle blog (that's for those of you who know what that is!).

I am not posting that much recently mostly because a) nothing much is happening b) I am not feeling particularly great with some sad family events.
Anybody with good advice on how to sleep better when you are worried feel free to share!
On the working life front it's great to be teaching with my friend again :)

Some more thoughts: not looking forward to the winter. Even the idea of cold is making me shiver!
Need more sleep. Did I mention I would like more sleeping?
Anyway. As you can see I am not making much sense. All my energies are ploughed into work right now so I am pretty much brainless and powerless at the end of the day.

Tomorrow, I am teaching Pony Day kids all day. I will probably do Kingsley at lunch time so I can leave the yard earlier than night time, then back home for some rest therapy ;)

Sorry life has got you down. It is hard to be positive all the time. Denial, combined with optimism is what works for me. Telling myself that something will change for the better and working hard to believe my own words. Tomorrow might be another miserable day but pretending it won't be at least buys me a good night's sleep. And what about all those wasted nights when tomorrow really did turn out O.K?
Reading fiction is another absolute must, to make the break between one day and the next. I find it hard to go to bed without a book to distract me. I hope you achieve a restful night and awake refreshed.

For sleep: limit or eliminate caffeine and alcohol, don't eat too close to bedtime and have a regular bedtime routine - I read in bed before I go to sleep and try to go to sleep about the same time every night. Quiet, comfort, you get the idea. Actually, when I'm tense, I still fall asleep just fine, but tend to wake up too early.

hey ther...was thinking of you tonight while catching a bit of news, yucky nasty weather in Poland, are your parents okay? Have power? We are having a mild version of that mess here, came in soaked and frozen from going up horses, had to drag a pony out for turn out ...literally!! When I can't sleep I think of some particularly nasty chore I have been putting off and promise myself that I will start it in a certain time frame...works a charm but then I am about as domestically challenged as they come!!! Sometimes giving oneself permission to feel sad is okay..we are not ezpected to always be strong and chipper. Working with students and parents and staff and employers sometimes makes me feel so fakely cheerful...yuck! Thinking of you, take care. Canada

Sleeping problems.
What has made a great difference to me is audiobooks, preferably one you already have read/listened to, or one not too exciting.
Tuck your mp3-player under the pillow, plug in one of the earplugs and enjoy the same feeling as when your parents read you bed time stories.
Works for me.
I used to wake up in the night, without being able to get back to sleep. Not anymore.
I just set the player to turn off automatically after 30 mns. Usually I am fast asleep after 5-10.
I know, because I have to rewind if I am to get the entire story, lol!
And no, you won't get strangled by the cord...

Not much constructive help, but hoping things get better for you.

English Rider - I am LOVING the denial, do you think they sell it in orange tasting tablets in a Pharmacy? I shall have a good look. Books - now, that's something I can't do without so might just need to search for more. Thank you. Optimism, now that's what I am not too bad at...until I'm bad at it...

Kate - coffee taken off, I am spending my days on cups on teas with just one coffee. Routine - that would be good, must really look into it.

Canada - I wish you wrote a blog too! My parents are OK, but they do have a proper winter in Poland now!
I seem to have given myself that permission..but just hoping things pick up soon.

HorseOfCourse - I listen to Rick's audio books and they do work at times :) haha at the cord!

Anonymous - thank you.

Got to think positive, got to think positive, got to think positive...
